The Mike Risko Music School has been providing the community with a great place to study music since 1995. All lessons are given at our state of the art school located at 144 Croton Avenue in Ossining, where we have eight spacious lesson rooms, a comfortable waiting rooms and 2 small stages for performances. Fully equipped, sound proofed studios provide the ultimate environment for a music lesson. Private lessons are offered on the following instruments: Guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, & trombone.
Students of all ages and levels may begin taking lessons at any time during the school year. Lessons are either 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. Students register by the session. There are two semesters during the school year and a summer session. All new students are invited to come in for a free consultation. Lessons are offered Monday through Saturday by appointment. We offer day and evening lesson times. Weekday morning lessons are available by request.

Our lesson rooms are designed to inspire creativity. All eight rooms are painted in muted earth tones. They all have big glass windows on every door. Each lesson room has a large window that allows in fresh air and sunlight. All rooms are equipped with a real piano. amps, cables, music stands and extra chairs for parents who are interested in sitting in the lesson. Our drum room has 2 drum sets, one for the teacher and one for the student. Most of our lesson rooms are also equipped as live video lesson studios for students who would like to sign in and take lessons from their home or for in house students who may be studying with our additional staff located in other parts of the country. Additionally, we can also remote in parents who might like to see what their child is working on or observe the lesson.

Best Practices for In-Person Lessons at Mike Risko Music
We want our students to have the best lessons. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your lessons at Mike Risko Music.
- Make sure you know your regular lesson day and time.
- Make sure to gather your things together early on the day of your lesson so you don't have to look for anything. Be sure to bring your books, assignment book and a pencil. If you also bring an instrument, make sure to pack that too.
- If you instrument requires any preparation like tuning, be sure to do that before your lesson so you can get right to the lesson when you arrive.
- Students check in at the front desk, make sure you do any health screening in advance or on line. If you plan to fill it out when you arrive, leave yourself a few extra minutes,
- Always use hand sanitizer upon arrival. Don't forget to wear a tight fitting mask.
- Be on time for your lesson. If you are dropping off a child be sure to bring the child in. We are asking all parents and care takers to wait in their car at this time in order for us keep the space as clear as possible.
- Make sure to come in and pick up your child at the exact time. The teachers will always write a clear and concise homework assignment in your assignment pad.
- If you need to schedule anything, please call the office during business hours at 914-762-8757.
- Make sure we have a good email on file for you, we send out frequent reminders about lessons, recitals and more and you can get all that info by being on our email list.
- In the event of snow, check your email to see if we will be providing virtual links for that day.
- We ask students kindly give us 24 hours notice in the event they need to schedule a makeup lesson but
